The Uravu Bamboo Grove Resort, in its role as a centre for cultural and educational initiatives, hosted a day filled with discussions on sustainability, tourism, new concepts, books, students, and the “living library” concept with a group of 35 students from Companion Training Centre in Kalpetta, Wayanad.
Sivaraj T, Managing Director of Uravu Eco Links, and Corinne, Director of Tourism, gave a brief overview of Uravu Eco Links’ activities and emphasised the importance of sustainable tourism, particularly in Wayanad. They also discussed the sustainability model, which the Uravu Bamboo Grove Resort implements.
The lively event also featured the launch of “It’s My Book” (a library initiative) by Anil Emage, as well as a book discussion with the author of Operation at Koonimutthikunnu, Laila Sain. She discussed the shift in attitudes among the new generation of readers, which inspired her to write this book for the Kerala youth. Dhanya Indu, Coordinator at Uravu Eco Links, explained the concept behind her upcoming novel, which is to be released in November.
It was announced that monthly book readings and discussions will be held at the Uravu Bamboo Grove Resort to promote and inspire both writers and readers.
