A group of people who shared the passion and vision of the late environmentalist and professor Shobhindran, gathered at the Uravu Bamboo Grove Resort in Thrikaippatta on Saturday, 18 November 2023, to remember his life and work. The event was inaugurated by N Badusha of Prakrithi Samrakshana Samithi and featured a memorial lecture by Shajubhai Shantiniketan. Several friends and colleagues of Shobhindran, such as Thomas Ambalavayal, M. Baburaj, Polly Varghese, Paulos Johnson, EC Sadanandan, CD Suneesh, KBR Kannan, Basheer Kalathingal, and Dhanya Indu, recalled their experiences with him and his contributions to nature conservation. They also planted a tree in the resort premises as a tribute to the man who loved bamboo and wore green.
